애플은 세계 개발자 회의(WWDC) 2013년 행사 일정을 2013년 6월 10일부터 14일(현지 시각 기준)로 발표했다.
미 샌프란시스코 Moscone West에서 개최될 예정인 WWDC 2013은 iOS와 OSX 개발자를 위한 다양한 프로그램이 마련된다.
애플의 마케팅 수석 Philip Schiller는 소개문을 통해 '우리는 iOS와 OSX 개발자의 놀라운 사회와 WWDC 2013에서의 만남을 기대한다. 우리의 개발자는 가장 많은 생산과 수익을 올렸고, 우리는 그들이 혁신적인 새로운 애플리케이션을 만드는 데 도움이 될 소프트웨어 기술 및 개발 툴을 선보이게 되어 기쁘다.'고 밝혔다.
소프트웨어에 초점을 맞춘 WWDC 2013은 애플 iOS 수석이었던 Scott Forstall이 물러나고 Craig Federighi가 취임하고, Jonathan Ive가 디자인 총괄을 담당하면서 그 동안 애플 iOS에 공통적으로 적용되었던 skeuopmorphic 대신 '플랫' 디자인이 새롭게 적용될 것인지 주목되고 있다.
애플은 WWDC 2013을 통해 새로운 UI와 기능들이 적용된 iOS 7과 음성 인식 기능 Siri의 추가와 어플리케이션 통합이 예상되는 OSX 10.9를 공식 발표할 예정이다.

CUPERTINO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Apple® today announced that it will hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) June 10 through June 14 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. • Apple Design Awards which recognize iPhone®, iPad® and Mac apps that demonstrate technical excellence, innovation and outstanding design.
